Qi Gong is the Alphabet

Do you do any form of Qi Gong? I first learned about Qi Gong at the Seaside Hostel in Oregon. I arrived one day and saw a note at the front desk that said "Qi Gong 9:00 AM for anyone interested - free!"

The organic farming revolution...

"People will tell you the organic farming revolution that's taking place is about food safety or ecolgical concerns, but I think if you dig down deep, you'll find that the revolution is really about what people are missing in their lives: good food and a connection to the land, both of which puts us in touch with basic spiritual values."

Reading List

Masticating Juicer

A masticating juicer is the answer to every juicing problem. Because it operates on the mastication process, this type of juicer chews the fibers and breaks up the cells of vegetables and fruits. This give you more fiber, enzymes, vitamins and trace minerals. This all results in the darker, richer color of the juice and a sweeter, richer more full-bodied flavor.

Collards add color -- and nutrients -- to meatless rice and beans | FOODday - OregonLive.com

I must have been a Southerner in another life. Although I grew up in the great dairy state of Wisconsin, my palate leans toward the zesty, hearty food of the South. Take rice and beans. At first glance, it's just a humble, economical dish, but take another look and you'll find it's a nutritional superstar, too. The combo contains all the essential amino acids and loads of fiber and iron.

Dulcy Mahar: Study your garden's bones | OregonLive.com

February is a month of "nose to ground" vigilance, when gardeners walk around looking down to see what's springing up. It's just darn exhilarating to see little green things springing out of the earth. Tempting as it is, this narrow focus on what's poking up can distract us from looking up to take in our gardens as a whole. This is our last chance to take in the so-called bones of our gardens before everything starts leafing out and obscuring the actual layout. Then we'll be goners in the thrill of watching early-flowering trees and shrubs burst into bloom.
